Biden and his first primetime appearance!

 

I took time about four days ago to listen to our fearless leader Joe Biden address the nation for the first time officially.  I wanted to make this blog to cover what was said and my thoughts on it.  I went into the speech with low expectations but open to being surprised. Lets get going!

The first statement he made was "A year ago, we were hit with a virus that was met with silence and spread unchecked, denials for days, weeks, then months."  As I expected his first point was to point fingers and say Trump did not act fast enough, which we know has been proven false.  He followed that up by pointing out his concern by pulling his "card" out of his pocket which he carries at all times with the most up to date number of "Americans who have died from COVID." He makes sure to add "That's more deaths than in World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War and 9/11 combined."  While an accurate statement it is comparing apples to cars.  Wars are nothing like a communicable disease.  He moves onto the human aspect of isolation and job loss due to the restrictions placed by governments across the US and mainly in states or cities run by liberal Democrats.  

In the next section of the speech he moves onto the vaccine.  He states when he took over "this country didn't have nearly enough vaccine supply to vaccinate all or anywhere near all of the American public" while forgetting the vaccines were created during Operation Warp Speech under President Trump and when he took power there was only 2 vaccines and they had just began being distributed and administered one month earlier.  He praises the companies, and rightly so, while at the same time taking credit for the vaccine being shipped and administered when he simply took over the process in its early phase and followed the same plan already in place.  He then talked about his "plan" to open vaccination centers across the US but did not give any firm plan forward.  

Then we get to the real meat of what he wanted to say.  He says "in the coming weeks, we will issue further guidance on what you can and cannot do once fully vaccinated to lessen the confusion, to keep people safe, and encourage more people to get vaccinated."  This statement is skillfully crafted to encourage getting vaccinated while at the same time issuing a backhanded threat of more lockdowns and restrictions if we as Americans choose to not get vaccinated.  He then adds "If we all do this, if we do our part, if we do this together, by July the 4th, there's a good chance you, your families and friends, will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout or barbeques and celebrate Independence Day."  How freaking nice of him to give us independence day for complying with big governments demands.  He goes on further to state "Because if we don't stay vigilant and the conditions change and we may have to reinstate restrictions to get back on track" aka do what we say or else.

He concludes with "God bless you all and please, God, give solace to all those people who lost someone.  And may God protect our troops.  Thank you for taking the time and listening.  I look forward to seeing you."  No God Bless America?  Not a big shock to me but there we have it.  

Here is my thoughts on the virus and vaccine.  Just like the masks and other precautions I believe it should be every single Americans right to do or not do any of these things.  The good news is Biden made it through the 30 min without completely botching it.

The masks are coming off...

 

As we approach the one year anniversary of the 15 day lockdown to slow the spread of Covid some states are taking steps to open up and end mask mandates.  Just this week the Texas and Mississippi Governors ended their state mask mandates and reopened their states 100%!  As the numbers of deaths and infected are falling quicker than the legacy that is Andrew Cuomo some Governors are realizing their states need to reopen and are finally taking the steps necessary to provide their citizens the ability to survive and pay their bills.  I support this decision completely.  It is actions like these that will define which people begin to live again and which ones will become drones living off the govt for a lifetime.  Family finances, mental health, and self sufficiency is what is at risk.  So now is the time to decide are you willing to give up your freedoms for "safety" or are you willing to accept risk to support yourself?

Since the beginning of the pandemic I have been an avid supporter of people deciding for themselves the precautions they are willing to take to avoid getting themselves or their families sick.  Our government officials have made people think they are the end all be all of information and encourage compliance instead of allowing people to educate themselves and make the decisions.  A friend of mine had shared a comic the other day which showed a guy getting the vaccine and then running out and licking all kinds of things like door knobs, animals, etc.  My friend commented "Please keep in mind the vaccine is intended to protect others from you. lol".  I googles what is a vaccine and found the definition is "A vaccine stimulates your immune system to produce antibodies, exactly like it would if you were exposed to the disease.  After getting vaccinated, you develop immunity to that disease, without having to get the disease first."  And I commented this shows that vaccines ONLY protect the person not anyone else.  After taking a day and discussing this post and my comment with my wife, who has a degree in biology, she helped me realize the personal decision to vaccinate is to protect yourself but the benefits to others is you cannot get the virus and thus it does protect others as well.  So I replied to my comment correcting my error.  This is what more people need to do!  Get educated on a topic and then be willing to admit you were wrong if need be.

I wanted to take this time and post to restate my position on Covid, mask mandates, and lockdowns.  First I know Covid is real and exists.  The lockdowns while good in intention have proven to do more harm than good.  The mask mandates are just ridiculous, the "science" has constantly changed and I have been told it is because as scientists learn more they have to correct their recommendations.  While I do understand new evidence can change the recommendations, why not wait until you have a steady conclusion before mandating every American to comply?  In the past month we were told that wearing two or three masks would make you safer, if that is true why have we been unprotected with one mask for the past 12 months?  I think every single citizen and business should have the freedom to work, be open, mask  or no masks, and make the ultimate decision as to what precautions they are willing to take to avoid the risk of contracting Covid.  I firmly believe the federal and local govts have taken this opportunity to snatch power and impose regulations that only benefit big corporations and government entities.  

There is no reason at this point any state should not be following Texas and Mississippi and ending this ridiculous lockdowns and mask mandates.  Next blog I will dive into cancel culture and the woke mobs destruction of everything.

Obama Administration years 9-12

 

Not matter if you agree with the election results or not the fact is Joe Biden is our new President, well kind of.  During the election Joe Biden made very few appearances and made a promise to build back better.  He promised the far left that his presidency would be the most progressive in history.  He promised to place people in cabinet positions who hold extremely progressive values and ideals.  For voters who believe in such things like the BLM riots, teaching 5 year old's about sexuality (grooming), and trans men being allowed to play women's sports his rhetoric sounded like nirvana.  He spoke of equity for all and pushing America into the future.  We are now almost a month into his Presidency and what have we seen?

To start his cabinet was filled with the exact same people that President Obama had in his cabinet positions.  Joe Biden pulled Obama's Rolodex out and brought back people like John Kerry.  The same old white men that Obama had advising him on all things.  He rolled back the oil pipeline which cost 20,000+ Americans jobs and also reduced our relations with Canada.  He rolled back almost all of President Trump's executive orders that protected women, LGBTQIA+, farmers, small businesses, and children.  He made sure to instill the good old boy club back into the seats of power and it is disgusting.

President Biden touted his plan for handling the Covid-19 pandemic.  He claimed his plan would have us all back to normal in his first 100 days.  Just last week he came out and admitted that no matter what we do the curve of the virus will not change.  He put in a federal mask mandate on all federal lands, then immediately went to the Lincoln memorial with his family and did not wear a mask.  He lauded President Trump for not leading by example while at the same time not leading by example himself.  His plan to distribute the vaccine has failed as vaccines are going unused and eventually no longer usable.  The website most states use to schedule the vaccine have either not worked or are not reliable.  He claimed in his first 100 days he would have the schools back open, in all honesty a lot of them are open but only 1 day a week.  I think most people thought he meant full time.

So how does Obama play into this?  Well it is simple, Biden's plan for his Presidency is almost an exact copy of the Obama admin.  Under Obama we saw the press secretary avoid questions and use phrases like "I will have to get back to you on that."  President Trump hired Press Secretaries who were willing to answer any and all questions.  The last one was amazing and tended to push back on reporters who asked questions that were deliberately bias and not true with facts and resources.  Our new Press Secretary said she was bringing transparency back to the press room, then immediately refuse to answer questions or use the old "I will circle back to that later" approach.  The truth is that the next 4 years will be almost an exact copy of Obama's eight.  We will see unemployment rise for all ethnicities, our economy go into recession (which will be blamed on Trump), continued divide amongst all races and genders pushed by the left wing media, and ultimately very dark days ahead.  I have tried to give Biden a chance to prove me wrong and up until this post he has only hurt America.  Guess it is time to buckle up!

The pen is mightier than the sword

 

Our country has a long history of Presidents signing executive orders to dictate the direction of our country.  Most notably FDR signed 3728 executive orders in his 12 years in office.  The second most was by George Washington at 2553.  But in my lifetime, since 1979, the highest number was 381 by Reagan and 364 by Clinton.  The lowest number was 166 by George H.W. Bush.  These orders are issued using the stroke of a pen to push through policy that may or may not be able to get voted into law by congress.  Donald Trump signed seven executive orders from the time of his inauguration on Jan 20, 2017 until the end of that month.  Obama signed nine in the same timeframe.  Bush and Clinton both signed two.  Our new President Joe Biden while on the campaign trail was quoted as saying "Some of my Republican friends and some of my Democratic friends even occasionally say, "Well, if you can't get the votes by executive order, you're going to do something." Things you can't do by executive order unless you're a dictator. We're a democracy. We need consensus."  He was discussing the possibility of signing an executive order to raise taxes on the rich but the one statement that stand out here is "Things you can't do by executive order unless you're a dictator".  Why does this stand out?  The answer is easily found, from Jan 20 through the end of the month Joe Biden signed 45 executive orders.  That is vastly more executive orders than all the Presidents of my lifetime combined in the same timeframe!

He has signed orders stopping the Keystone pipeline, which has allowed us to be energy independent, this caused the immediate loss of jobs for many unionized workers.  He rejoined the Paris climate accord which forces us to pay million if not billions of dollars "cleaning" up our fossil fuel usage and giving money to other countries.  He signed an order repealing title IX which allowed women's sports to disallow trans women, aka men, from competing and winning scholarships, this places girls at a disadvantage immediately.  He also signed an order allowing trans men and women to use the bathrooms and locker rooms of their "preference".  He stopped funding for construction of the border wall.  All of these things hurt America and put our lives at risk.  

So why is he on such a quick signing rampage?  My guess is he is beholden to the far left and their agenda.  Many of these actions have pushed that agenda to the forefront of our politics.  This becomes dangerous as it is my belief that more than half of the country and maybe as much as two-thirds do not support these ideals.  I have always been a supporter of the President as when the President succeeds we succeed.  I always try to give the benefit of the doubt to the new President until they pass policy or support ideals that I disagree with.  So when Biden took over I was telling all of my Trump supporting friends to give him a chance, maybe he will do ok.  But here we are ten days into the new administration and I have watched him sign so many things which counter my views and things I support.  We have seen the censorship of conservatism in big tech and media.  We have seen the conservative "twitter" called Parler removed for allowing free speech on its platform.  Youtube accounts, twitter accounts, and many other social media sites have removed conservative accounts and cost prominent conservative posters hundreds and in some cases thousands of followers.  This is a problem.

As a conservative it worries me that these things are happening so quickly.  I have a really bad feeling things will end badly.  We need to fight back and prevent the silencing of any voices.  Our freedoms are at threat daily.  I am not sure how to fight back but when I figure it out I will hopefully be able to share my views and get your opinions.  

Masking a few questions

 As 2020 falls further and further into our rearview mirrors I wanted to take time to remark on some of the most idiotic and once again "scientific" recommendations from the beloved Dr. Fauci.  In March of 2020 he went on record, in response to a reporter question, telling all Americans there was no need to wear a mask as it will do little to prevent the spread of Covid-19.  Several months later he went on record telling Americans they needed to wear the masks and he had only told us not to because he wanted to ensure our health care workers had enough to protect them.  We are now almost in Feb of 2021 and I hear today that he is now recommending we not only wear the mask but we should wear two masks!  Saying it provides more protection than one mask and that is just "common sense."  

In light of his newest revelation I am suggesting we all invest in a device I learned of in my military days, the O.B.A. or Oxygen Breathing Apparatus pictured above!  Not only will it protect you from Covid It also supplies valuable life saving oxygen and can protect you from any and all viruses, chemical or biological attacks, etc.  What could possibly be the downside?  All Americans would be protected and fewer people will die, that is what the government wants right?  Sure the canister has a limited supply of oxygen so it would have to be changed a lot.  And sure it is super hot to wear for long periods of time.  And sure it can be very uncomfortable for a lot of people.  But isn't you and your families safety worth it?

And this is where a lot of you are thinking "man this guy is off his rocker" but I am here to tell you I am safely within my faculties.  As we allow the "experts" and "scientists" to dictate more and more aspects of our lives we give them not only medical authority but also political authority.  I think it is time we take back out lives and live how we think is best for us and our families.  I think we can hear their suggestions and evaluate their relevance on our own.  We don't need mandatory mask mandates and other things forced on us by them or our representatives.  America was designed so the people had the power and the govt officials worked for us.  In our history that has shifted and morphed into this idea we are subservient to our govt. and that is wrong on every level.  We need to take our constitutionally given power back and stop the abuse and division being led by our leaders.  

I feel in the near future we will be in a position where revolution is the only remedy for the corruption eroding our govt and its foundations.  What side do you want to be on?

Non-Political post #1- Entertainement

 

As promised this is my first post of 2021 that breaks up the monotony of politics with something fun to discuss.  For those who enjoy my pithy commentary have no fear I will be posting as usual very soon!  So what can we discuss today that people might be interested in?  I have thought long and hard about what would be interesting for most of you and then it hit me, entertainment!  So here is what I was thinking, what do you do for entertainment and why?

For me I enjoy a lot of different forms of entertainment.  But the most enjoyable thing I like to do is attend concerts and hockey games!  2020 prevented both of those things but hockey season recently started and my wife agreed to let me order the Center Ice package on Direct TV which allows me to watch every single Colorado Avalanche game this season!!!  So while that does not have the same energy as being there live I have really enjoyed being able to watch my team.  Hockey has an energy live that I have never felt at any other sporting event.  It is a very enjoyable way to spend a few hours and it gives me a great feeling no matter if the team I am rooting for wins or loses.  Here in Tucson we have 2 hockey teams, the University of Arizona and the AHL club team for the Coyotes the Tucson Roadrunners.  Both of these teams are awesome to watch live and I really miss being there with my family and friends.

The other thing I truly miss is live concert events.  Since 2012 I have worked with a website called Faygoluvers which covers the genre of Underground rap and hip hop mostly.  I do music reviews, show reviews, and some interviews for them and it has allowed me to get deeply involved in something that brings me relaxation and enjoyment.  I have gotten to interview some amazing artists and review a ton of amazing albums.  But the thing I enjoy most is being at live shows.  Nothing gives me the ability to escape the realities of life for a short time like being there.  For that few hours I can give myself entirely to the vibe and energy in the building and let the outside world disappear.  Toward the end of 2020 I began writing music reviews again and found while immersing myself in the music I found some of that same feeling.  It will never be the same as live event but until that can begin again I am going to work hard to provide new reviews and start to make the review section of the site very active!

So in the end here I would like to know what kinds of things do you enjoy for entertainment and how do those things make you feel?  I know for some movies or tv shows give that ability to relax.  For others it is reading.  What is it that feeds your soul?

Unity and equality for all......No not you

 

In 8 days we will see a new President take the seat in the White House.  I didn't vote for him but I am willing to give him a chance to prove my concerns and fears wrong.  I have stated many times before I think he is simply a place holder for 5-6 months and then he will step down making Kamala Harris our first Black female President.  Why is that important?  Well the Democratic party has for years made their platform "The first..." They have pandered to minority groups for votes and then gotten into power and done nothing for those groups.

President elect Biden gave a speech the other day expressing how he is going to help small businesses recover from the Covid lockdowns.  The thing he did not address was that his party controls the cities and states which have had the worst response to Covid, imposed the most restrictions and cause the most deaths based on policies they have put in place.  The one thing he said that struck me the most was this "Our priority will be Black, Latino, Asian, and Native American owned small businesses, women-owned businesses, and finally having equal access to resources needed to reopen and rebuild."  I have no problem supporting those businesses, my problem is excluding other racial groups from the same aid opportunities.  The Democrats scream about racial injustice and equality but at every single turn exclude and put policy in place which places other racial groups at a disadvantage in order to benefit others.  This is systemic racism.  Putting systems in place for the benefit of one racial group over another is the definition of systemic racism.  So why are the same people who have screamed for equal justice now silent?  The answer is simple, it does not fit their idea of equality.

We have seen with the lockdowns the hypocrisy of these people.  The do as I say not as I do mentality.  The justice for me but not for you ideas have set us back to a time where nobody is equal.  Some of these equality advocates have petitioned for segregated dorms on college campuses, black only rec centers, and even supporting financial help through the crisis for minorities only.  Biden's campaign rhetoric was all about unity and healing the country but his actions are about dividing us further.  He and the far left are doing this to restrict our rights and squash the conservative viewpoint.  Just this week every social media platform banned the sitting President of the United States from their platforms, this is not right.  This is censorship.  Never in our history has one viewpoint been censored while others are allowed to continue.  Why is it people are not standing up and stopping this?

We saw people storm our capitol building in DC, which I covered in my last blog, and we saw lawless riots in the streets all summer.  These were cause by the division being sewed in the media and through our politics.  Only when we realize the government works for the people, the people don't subject to the government will we begin to stop this shift in our political system.  If we don't stand up soon I am truly afraid we will lose everything we know and all the freedoms we enjoy.  For now I will pray for the best and hope we eventually get to unity and equality for all not just some.
